Credentials that actually matter
In appliance repair, the licence behind the technician is the difference between a safe, legal repair and a dangerous one. Anthony holds the full set:
- Red Seal certified — the interprovincial standard of trade competency, recognised across Canada.
- 313A licensed — Ontario's Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence, legally required for sealed cooling-system (refrigerator and freezer) work.
- TSSA certified — required by law in Ontario for any gas appliance work (gas dryers, ranges and cooktops).
- ODP certified — required for sealed-system and refrigerant work on refrigerators and freezers.
Those last two aren't optional niceties: in Ontario, gas work legally requires TSSA certification and refrigerant work requires ODP certification. A technician without them cannot legally — or safely — carry out that part of the job.
